HISTORY

Vegantigua refers to the Carrantigua plot in Quintanilla, located in the meadow area beside our winery. The first brand produced by our winery, it began to be sold  under the name of Vega de Yuso 2003.

WINEMAKING

The wine is fermented with its own grape skins for 15 days at 24ºC, with cold pre-maceration for four days. Once devatting is performed, malolactic fermentation is carried out for three weeks in stainless steel vats. The ageing process is carried out in American and French oak for a  minimum of 10 months.

TASTING ANALYSIS

COLOUR: Ruby red with violet tones at the rim and good depth.

On the NOSE, it is  very fruity and fresh, with hints of red fruit (cherries, currants, blackberries), a very cheerful wine. Pleasant toasted wood notes stand out without overpowering the fruit, toffee, coffee and vanilla notes.

In the  MOUTH, we taste a  pleasant wine with wood tannins that are harmoniously blended into the wine. It is a full-bodied, persistent wine. Those fresh, fruity nuances and toasted notes return as retronasal aromas.
